The End of my 7years with MAH & MAHTEC

I started my October with last day of working at the Malaysian Association of Hotels &
Malaysian Association of Hotels Training and Education Centre (MAHTEC Sdn. Bhd)

7 YEARS oi!! the longest company i've worked with

Begin with only 2 staffs at MAHTEC and now it has become well known in the hotel industry
So many ups and downs working here. So many fond memories i've had, and all the bitter-sweet too. Arguments, crisis management, tears, laughed and almost everything i have learned here. I am proud of myself for all this experiences

I was given so many chances and experiences to travel to almost every states in Malaysia and ASEAN countries and visited so many fantastic hotels. I've met so many fabulous hoteliers who have passion in their career and in hospitality industry. That is part of the valuable moments

But i have to decide something good for my life and career for becoming a better person

Sooner or later i have to bid farewell to my fellow colleagues who has been a good officemates. For their support, team work, gossiping sesh, punching bags moment etc

It'll always be in my thoughts!

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same. ~Flavia Weedn,

Reality Bites

Yikes, that sucks kan
i know but i am the kind of mother that have to work to help support the family but no complaint. i got to have my own pocket money yay!

so today i started my work after 3 months on maternity hols. (yes, i took an early 1mo off as i can't barely walk and climbed the office staircase. my office located at 4th floor and have NO lift)
it breaks my heart to leave my two girls at home especially Sofia who is still on breastfeeding.
Tho i know she is the kind of baby that is well behaved. No cranky except cried for milk or when she wants someone to dukung her, other than that she is easy to managed. Same like HM before. I am so thankful that i was given two daughters that beside cheer up my day and also a good girls.. Syukur!

I just wish and doa that my husband is stabilise enough in future so i don't have this mixed feelings leaving them during weekdays

OK, back to work
(imagine at 4pm now i'm still blogging instead doing my office work. Well, i need to familiarize myself after been away for 3mo kan...Alasan sangat)

Anticipated me & Macau #1

Now, let's start this

This is the anticipated business trip for the year 2013, because

  • my first year to macau
  • my first year handling this event and i gotta chance to be part of this delegation that has at least 20 GM's/Directors from Hotels all over Msia that joined
  • i gotta visit HK again for the 3rd time *wink*
  • i will be jakun abit by flying A380 fir the first time

so the day came, flights was early at 950am and que was long by knowing school hols started too
window seat, pillow, in flight entertainment, upper deck class, blanket - checked
meal - nasi lemak with Magnum ice cream as dessert of the day
in flight entertainment - the COnjuring (halfway as i fell asleep after that, kenyang)

Reached HK airport was 12pm+ . (Yes, we flew to HK instead of direct to Macau with AA since we want to use MAS. MAS don't have flight to Macau)
So we are taking a speed boat/ferry from the airport HK to Macau. DO NOT go for HK immigration coz once you're out you can't go in back. So you have to go to Wan Chai (at town) to take the boat rides from there which gonna take longer hours

Tips : There'll be a signage at the airport if you wanna take the boat to Macau. Just follow that and they'll have schedule too. Its about less than HKD200 (lupa sudah, pic should be in my camera)

Boat rides took about 45mins.

#2 tips : its better to bring along your bag rather than check-in into the ferry/boat coz they don't have a proper luggage system at Macau. They just dump all your bags at one pick up point then you have to wait for your luggages to arrives (if you're lucky enough within the 1st trip your bag is there- so unsystematic)

Outside the terminal, there'll be plenty of taxis waiting for you, just tell them your destination and go

#3 tips : HKD can be used at Macau, but they'll give you change in MOP. but MOP Cannot be used at HK. so spend wisely the MOP while at Macau :)

Arrived at my hotel name Landmark Hotel, organised by the organiser. Classy and huge room for just my self. and lucky enough to get free wifi (others don't have wifi and must go to the business centre room that operated only office hours, such inconvenience)

#3 city tour and the shopping part & say Good bye Hanoi

hahahahahahahhhhhhhhh
lama giler nak amik masa to update about Hanoi trip. sorryla bila mood kelaut, takde ape yang nak di update dalam ni
so mood menulis dah datang mari kita habiskan

so day 3, we went for city tour.
actually everyone was looking forward for the shopping part rather than this boring city tour, but we have to at least show to the Directors that we are going to learn some historical story about Hanoi. so drama la sket

but once finished visited the biggest lake in the city and the nearby temple, acara shopping sudah bermula. we separated by few groups then, ikut nafsu shopping masing2
there's a lot of choices of souvenirs you can get here. a 100% pashmina can get for VD1000 only. bags, shirts, shawls, tudungs are all around. just use your bargaining skills

As usual, i MUST buy something for HM. I declined to buy her more toys, so i decided bajula paling sesuai and found this one shop that sell all of baby/toddler's items, in pure cotton. I gone mad and managed grab 2 sets of baju for HM. Which that shopping moment lasted till night for our last kopek, esok sudah balik

balik hotel, rested, dinner, and pack for tomorrow

Day 4
no rush today so breakfast and all supposed to be at the lobby by at least 1030am
our flight was about 2pm+ and i flew with MAS (some others with Vietnam Airlines)
all jump into one van and journey to airport took at least 30mins

checked-in and board directly, still have time about an hour plus while waiting for plane, so i sempat habiskan my dong duit by going for a 30mins foot spa
bliss, lega, best. ngam2 habis when they're started calling passenger for boarding

in flight - meal, entertainment was ok and reached home about almost 7 after all the ding dongs at the airport and transport

to Ha Long Bay we go

day 2
as early as 8am (hanoi is one hour behind Msia) we are ready for our whole day journey to Ha Long Bay. if i am travelling on my own, i would maybe choose to stay on the cruise and enjoying the view. Get an ideas about it here
anyway, journeys took 3hours lebih (kebas bont) but it was way better that my journey from phnom penh-siem reap. sceneries are more on paddy fields. otw, we stopped at one of the tourist crafts centre (maybe kot) and the moment i stepped out from the van, it is so chilly and windy (plus its still rainy). To the loo i went hahahha

"where's Lilian" everyone asked.
looks like she's the only left out and still shopping, i guess. everyone waited and there's an evil idea to just left her out hahaha

so we arrived at the port. weather is so hazy and foggy. and windy too.

in our itinerary, we should be having our seafood lunch in the boat while enjoying the rides

seafood lunch in the boat

the port to go to halong bay

pit stop, to the fishing village
beside than watching at the fishes, we had this opportunity to be in a small sampan and went to the other side of the cave. paid USD6/person for almost 40mins rides, sailed by a strong-muscle-woman.
"come, camera camera, picture" so we posed
"ok good, one more", we posed again, praying too that no ones jatuh dalam laut (i have 4 huge men in the boat with only 2 tiny girls inside. so unbalanced)

then she tarted to singing their own song. tak paham pun. but enjoying much

the unbalanced crews

neighbours (unbalanced too coz too light.lol)

once we entered to the other side of the cave, masya-Allah the view is just spectacular.
surrounding is so peaceful and calm. saw eagles flying on top.

u can opted for kayaking too. tatau how much

the last sad of 2012

i was reading the newsfeed at Fb as usual, every morning
itulah kerjanya once masuk office, not checking email but FB dulu

and i was like what? it can't be.

and i say it out loud so my boss can hear it too
"eh, Clifford passed away la"
boss , "what?oh shit. where did you hear it"
me, "come la here, i saw it in my friend's FB status"

and yes, he passed away this morning. apparently he was admitted like a week ago due to
there's a growth in his stomach. new found cancer
he undergo the operation to remove it about early this year, was on recovery mode, still ongoing check up at Gleneagles Hosp

i am sad. terribly in shocked. he reminds me of my dad :(
i just can't believe and refused to accept the news for a bout 2hours. we just met and spent time together at his resort when me and boss visited him on Oct 2012. and I was so thankful that i pestered boss to go jugak Tmn Negara. Tho i don't really see him that often but the 3d2n there, listening to his story of his career, family, kids, life etc. Man, he is such a  young at heart. he has this positive vibes around and was so passionate with the hotel industry.

I cried. Yes i did. i dunno why. he just reminds me of my late dad
he's here alone while family and kids at singapore. but he is such a hero. he went through and refused to let others worried of him. I even visited him while he finished his operation at Gleneagles hosp earlier and saw him recovering but i just couldn't bare to know he's gone. but i guess that's the fact

This is surely not a good way to end the 2012. he died
and esok, the first of 2013, he'll be buried.
Sir (as i always called you that), i pray that you'll have a good life there
and may you rest in peace sir. he is Mr Clifford Zuzartee

our last picture together. he was on far left, in white shirt

update of the funeral session on 1/1/2013

i decided to pay a last visit and respect at his house at TTDI before they undergo the religious thingy at the church
first, he had a beautiful and cosy renovated house
and yes, again i cried when i see him. memang emotional sungguh.

then we proceed to the nearby church. while other Catholics pray and sing whatever they have to, i just remain silent
the moment when one of his family giving a words and those last words he left for the girls, aiyaaaa it made me sedih lagi. the truth that he is such a kind hearted person. I can see all sorts of ppl and regardless the religion are in the church. we love and care for him, that's for sure. he touched everyone heart with his kindness, generous and laughter

Enrich Temptations

oh ya, its temptations on certain items. I have an eye at thier Lewre leather shoes today, they were so comfy but then the price for members, after discounted pun agak mahai la. RM200 for a pair of shoe is so not me. tapi dah plan this time nak cari heels yang nude color, so can almost match with any

My enrich points idak le banyak sgt, bukan selalu travel with MAS pun. so nak perabihkan boss punye points la. A bit frustrated coz tak banyak choice and items yang boleh di redeem, more on fragrances and make ups. But i grab a mascara of Benefits, RM40 je. original price seratus lebih.

Boss gift me Lanvin perfume of Marry Me. Akak tu kata perfume ni bau sedap, mmg iya pun.
The bau so floral and sweet sampai rasa sekeliling me duk bau perfume ni. This is as a Christmas Gift. Every year me and boss will do gift exchange at office. So my turn la ape nak pikir what to buy for him

benefits mascara and Marry me! perfume. made my friday :)

Bitchy secretary?

All this while i'd think that i'm one of the above, considering that most (75%) from the staff doesn't like me
Well, i assumed from the way they berlakon depan me and the stories i've heard all this while
But after a few conversation with certain ppl, i'd think that i am actually doing the right job and at the right track

Recently had a chat with my husband's aunty who is a Pengarah at one of the Govt college at Banting. It's a SHE.
She's been complaining that her secretary, that was aged about 23-25, just married was so- soft -type of person. And she is so depending on the boss. In fact almost everything. And when a visitor wanna meet the boss, she would be nicely accepted all that regardless the boss is having a tight schedule. She barely say NO to everyone, which end up she'll be doing other ppl's job and not have sufficient time to finish the boss's task

Again, this aunty commented that she had advised her secretary to be more firm and strict. More over, the secretary should be helping the boss on everything, whether to cover her up from meeting some anonymous strangers. True!

Additional remarks added by my MIL that a secretary is a person that EVERYONE should be scared off, in the office. And any hanky panky stuffs should be stopped by the secretary before the boss finds out. True, again.
A secretary also plays an important role to take care of the office and as an advisor to the boss and are the most powerful staff among the rest. True, true!!

Again, it made me ponder that i've done the right thing all this while when recently, boss was kinda expressing his feeling that for the past 2 weeks i was absent, he needs to look after everything on his own. Ignore the facts that my replacement lady was there, she's new and doesn't knew much. He's facing much troubles dealing with the staffs. Ignore the facts that he's having 2 GM's in the office that WAS supposed to help him too. Pity him

Then, i came out with a remarks that

me :well, actually my presence in the office is really important tho. Beside me being kepochi and bitchy, it's actually the right thing i've done all this while
Boss : Oh yes, absolutely. Now u knew that you're my right hand ?

So, it IS RIGHT to be bitchy and to be the most hatred person in the organization, which indirectly telling that that secretary has done a great job to the boss. Well, that's why there's a day to appreciate and celebrate that tittle every year, aite?

So i should be feeling alright and proud of myself !!
