What is hand, foot and mouth disease?

Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is a mild illness caused by one of a group of coxsackie viruses. HFMD gets its name from the little sores that develop on the hands and feet, and in the mouth. It’s common in children under 10, although adults can get a milder form of the virus. 

How will I know if my baby has HFMD?

A baby or child with hand, foot, and mouth disease will clearly not feel well. The telltale signs of the virus are small, blister-like sores in the mouth, hands and feet. Your child may also:

• have a sore throat;
• have mild fever;
• generally look and feel unwell

so the sanitizing and clean up mode is ON

 And yes, HM has this mild fever 2 days prior when she starts complaining about her ulcers

The process started with :

• clean up all your bedsheets, pillows cover and blanket
• clean up all her toys, meal set, etc and even the room, spray with dettol. I did this 2x in a day
• i even mope the house with floor cleaner like once in 2days
• if there's other siblings/kids in the house, ensure they are not close and don't touch each other. don't share meal set/clothes etc
• as for her clothes, i do read at net that to even separate it. Means to wash it alone and use hot/warm water for it. Well, i do separated it from our normal clothes. I didn't use hot/warm water but before it goes to the machine, I rinsed all her clothes with hot water then goes into machine
• don't forget to continue feeding your baby/kids with her supplements/vitamins and good food so at least it will help to built up the immune to fight the disease. So i continued to fed HM with her vitamin C, scotts emulsion and plenty of liquids (as she's having ulcers, i tried to keep her hydrate as much possible to avoid being admitted!)

2 hand sanitizes and that aloclair for the ulcers. its for kids & adults

 on the 4th day HM recovered. But the spots are still there. According to doctor, it took at least 10days for it to fully recover. So no school for HM for almost 10days too. Oh she's the happiest

It's a bit hassle but i prefer to do the hardest/old school way rather than to get it spread to others. At least not to outsiders. Yes, we are stuck at home because of this and only went out for a quick dinner on the 8th day only. Please be responsible to the community
