Birth story of Sofia #1

it is almost 10days to go before raya which falls on 28-29 July 2014
and i am still have no sign of beranak beside that too much discharge

10th July 2014
check up with my Dr. Roslan..still no sign. No VE done. All ok
air ketuban cukup, baby dah engaged (actually since 30th week), balik rumah and doc said tunggu if air ketuban pecah/bleeding/contractions
so continue la minum RTL (raspberry tea leave), makan VCO, did perineum massage


17th July 2014
since mlm semalam dah rasa sakit kat ari2. This morning the pain still there, tapi lagi menyucuk, discharge byk as usual. So told amir lets go hospital, sakit macam lain sket (but not contractions tho perut dah selalu sgt mengeras)

About 3pm dah sampai Selayang, went direct to PAC at 5th flr, while waited to be assessed.
Then came a junior doc do the cheking coz Dr Roslan as usual busy with others.
Contractions were mild je, tak sakit pun. So after jwb soklan itu ini, then a senior doc came with the junior tadi. She did a VE and said i have opened 5cm. WOW!
masa dgr tu rasa mcm unbelievable, lagi half way nak go 10cm..semoga dipermudahkan la
So doctor said have to admit coz normally 2nd baby cepat sket

 Bag memang dah packed dlm keta so tell amir its the day.

After he arranged registration bla bla, i opted for twin bedding at FPP since single full
Banyak jugak mom's yang nak deliver dekat nak raya ni

Then dah dingdong everything about almost 9pm masuk LR. Sempat lagi teman amir buka puasa kat canteen bawah and chit chatting (sambil pakai kain batik time ni)


17th July, 9pm
stay la dalam LR. so far i can say whatever i planned for in my birth plan was adhered.
i was on intermittent ctg (means not 24/7 strap on ctg)..so kekdg tu every one hour or 30mins i was strap on to check baby's heartbeat and my contractions
Sad to say my contractions rate tak cantik lagi..very mild je
While waiting, banyakla i heard other mom's from other LR room screaming, nangis, ranting etc. Their experiences on delivering their baby.

Ada satu mom tu, very kesian i heard. She was crying like helplessly for almost 3 jam. menangis and berdoa yang Allah permudahkan her birthing, sambil repeating cakap "sakitnya Ya Allah" then continued mengucap and berzikir. Sedih and kesian dengar..then sampai i tertido kejap..and i heard her no more. Bila tanye nurse, she said that mom kene c-sect coz dah dilated 9cm for 3hours with no progress so doc opt c-sect.
Ada pulak yang mom jenis senang je melahirkan..but the best moment was bila dah dengar the mom screaming and pushing like hell, then here it comes the newborn baby crying
Ahhh, so priceless moment

Ok back to my story, another VE done after 4-5 hours, i am into 6cm dilation. Contractions? Nadaaaa...mild je. sangat boring kat dalam LR..dah boleh tido sampai ke esok pagi pun. Dalam LR tak boleh makan but i sempat eat kurma and drink water to keep me energized


18th July, 8am
After more than 8hrs passed, i was 7cm dilated.  Very slow progress
So they asked me to wait for Dr Roslan for the next stage.

And about close to 10am, Dr Roslan came and briefed me the scenario.
Basically my water bag still intact and my contractions were poor.
Options are break the water bag and wait for the real surges and hope for opening (they give me 4hrs for full dilation) OR be induced OR opt for c-sect

After discussed with hubs and my self i opt for c-sect
Tho all this while i wanted a gentle birth, tapi i have my own reason opting c-sect
So  please respect my decision.
I have well informed and decide this, so itu rezeki saya dalam melahirkan anak
Janganla be so judgemental. Either ways pun memang ada sakit, there's no such thing as normal delivery lagi sakit dari c-sect

Since i kena puasa before the c-sect (at least 4hrs prior), so my operation is after Friday prayers.
But by 4pm je i was been prepared for the ope coz before that bilik full
Urine bag dimasukkan kat miss V, a bit pedih the process tuh.
and nurse briefed me about the process. Before masuk ope room pun again diorg explained to me again the process

Dalam operation room tu sangatla sejuk.  Shivering like mad!
Again, before they started toreh2 my perut, the anesthesia doctor explained to me that:
-i will be on half bius, from perut to kaki
-i akan sedar so know what they did and say. to ensure that the bius really work, kaki kita akan terasa sgt berat and cannot move at all. Even when they poke us pun takkan terasa

bermula episod c-sect. After doc godek2 and goyang perutku here and there, finally i can hear the baby is crying. Alhamdulillah. I also heard Dr Roslan bagi salam to her
Then i asked him what is her weight, he said 3.2kg.
