MACP ni is satu badan yang bertindak untuk mengumpul royalti artis. They are the middle person between the community and the artists. Artis mendapat royalti based on their karya been played over and over, so bak kata ND Lala they falls into 2nd category income iaitu diorang bekerja untuk banyak kali and been paid for that.
And as per Habsah Hassan as the Chairman of the organization that it strikes our attention to realize that we need an organisation that can represent the artist to collect their royalty on behalf, as during 80's dulu, ada satu karyawan dari Indonesia yang famous with lagu Begawan Solo has made almost USD10mil (if my memory serves me right) but the money was stucked as they have no one as a rep to collect that.
And my boss was in shocked that he has to be on stage for handing the awards for Lagu persembahan terbanyak who has won by Yuna. Lucky him to get salam with Yuna but he sounds funny when he speaks Malay
Adalah nampak retis namely M. Nasir & wife, Nora and Johan nawawi (seating depan me), Farhan AF (slimmer a lot), Pretty Ugly (made 1st performance), Hazama, Yuna (petite and tall), Shila Amzah (cute), Edry KRU (kurus giler dunno why), Bunkface rocks! najwa Latiff with her famous Cinta Muka Buku song, and other song composer yang i tak ingat sape nama. It was not that grand and meletops event but i think it was to appreciate singers and composers on their contributions towards the music industry.
If you ask me what the heck was my association involved , we hotel industry are the most contributers for MACP. Hotel kena bayar license MACP with a price given. That's how we support our local music industry
